Challenge Maybe
9 December 2007 by Captain Maybe
This is an idea I had when I was in Korea, but I didn’t do anything about it. Right now, I’m thinking that I might as well give it a go - if it doesn’t work, I’ve only lost the amount of time it takes to write this page; if it does work then it could be really ‘quite interesting.’ But what is it?
It’s this: you think of something you’d like me to do, you post a comment below telling me about it - and then I go and do it. For instance, if you’ve been to India, you may know of a particularly worthwhile site that you’d like to recommend. Or you might like to know whether your average Indian has heard of the British Liberal Democrats, say. Or you might want me to bring you back a present. Or something completely different. But along the same lines. And reasonable.
So challenge me. I dare you.

I don’t have anything specific for you but could you please look into doing something yoga related if you get a chance? Perhaps a class or a meditation with a yogi?
I can do that. Visiting an ashram is on my non-existent list of things to do in India. Meditation’s probably more my thing, but I can see a certain logic to yoga. To be honest, I’m ambivalent about all that sort of thing - I’ll post on this topic some time soon.
And thanks for posting a comment.
I was beginning to wonder when would be an appropriate time to delete this page.
I have a challenge for you:
Write a short fictional story set in India, based on your experience and post it on here.
Based on my experience? But I write fantasy!
OK, I’ll start thinking about it.
Yeah, exactly! So it should be fantasy or sci-fi with a kind of Indian feel. Or just inspired by something you’ve seen or experienced. Doesn’t have to be long. Just a short piece of fiction to complement the travelog stuff.
See the new tab.
In fact, no - see my writing blog: http://maybewrites.wordpress.com.
Oh what a fantastic challenge! I’m enjoying watching it shape up!
Hi Maybe…
Did you ever take a yoga class?
What are you up to these days, and where are you? Another Korea move?
Thanks for linking my page; I feel like a stranger inside it, as I’ve forgotten how to do everything! I just got over a pretty bad rash and streptococcal infection.
Ciao for now Sean,
Lawrence
I didn’t do the yoga - but I’m considering looking into it in Korea. The new site looks good - and I hope it turns out to be a worthwhile enterprise.
